The first phase of counselling for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses and for MBBS programme under Special Category of " physically handicapped person"(anna university ph counselling) will be held on July 9th at the Vivekananda auditorium, College of Engineering, Guindy.

A release from the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2009, P. Narayanasamy, on Thursday said the call letters had been sent to all the eligible candidates.

If any vacancy arose at the end of the first phase of counselling, candidates would be called for the second phase.

For further details, candidates should visit the university website: www.annuniv.edu/tnea2009.

University sources said the schedule of the general counselling was likely to be decided formally at the TNEA coordination committee meeting to be held on July 10.

Councelling Process:

The candidates are divided into time-slots according to their state rank and are required to report at the counselling venue at their allotted slot. Here, they can collect their counselling passes after paying the counselling fee.

The students then go to the "Briefing Hall" where there are two big screens showing the seats that are currently available in all colleges under the TNPCEE. Here, the original certificates are verified and the candidates are called for the actually counselling in order of their state rank.

Once in the counselling room, there are around 40 terminals at which one can make their choice. Each terminal has a person who assists you in the counselling. When you are allotted a terminal, you are supposed to enter your top three choices. Before doing this, you can check up on seat status of various colleges. Once this is done, a screen appears which shows your choices and also how many people above you are yet to click their choices. You will be able to freeze a choice only when students above you in rank have freezed theirs.

Now, as the number of students above you keeps decreasing, if there is a sure chance of your getting your preferred college and branch, that particular choice becomes green indicating that your seat there is assure

TNPCEE is conducted by ANNA UNIVERSITY, on behalf of the Government of TAMIL NADU, as a common Entrance Examination for admitting students to the various Professional Courses in the State of Tamil Nadu.

Anna University, the agency to conduct the Tamil Nadu Professional Course Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) 2009, today said it would open 56 online registration centres across 41 cities in the State.

In a release, the Vice Chancellor, Mannar jawahar, said (as announced earlier)the

TNPCEE 2009 would be held on April 23 and 24.

These examinations are applicable for undergraduate professional courses offered by
